General Information

DSA Austin meets on the third Thursday of the month from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Scholz Garten at . Our meetings are structured as one-third education, one-third organizing, and one-third business. We develop a speaker on issues our members care about. Speakers are most often suggested by our members.

Our meetings follow the spirit of Robert’s Rules of Order. The basic tenant of Robert’s Rules of Order is that the majority rules and the minority is able to express their positions. Motions are made, and members can vote or abstain from voting on motions. For more information, see Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (11th ed.).

When DSA Austin members come together, we work together to learn from each other. When building an organization and a movement, individuals will have different points of view on various issues. Collaboration is the key to building a strong Left movement in solidarity with each other and outside of our organization.
